Note: Your lab environment and applications are customized for your course. This feature may not be available in all lab environments.
Download files from a virtual environment
Step 1: Go to https://labs.umgc.edu to connect to your UMGC Virtual environment.
Step 2: Once logged in, click on Desktops.
Step 3: Click the drop-down arrow for your course desktop (e.g. Cyber Programs Desktop) and click Open.
Step 4: Click on the three lines at the top of the desktop screen to expand the menu bar.
Step 5: Click Download from the top menu bar (This opens the Desktop folder).
Step 6: Select the file(s) you want to download or browse to the Desktop to select the file(s) and click Open.
Step 7: Select where you want to save the file and click Save.
Note: If you selected to download multiple files, the Save As window will pop up for each file. You may also get the "Download multiple files" prompt; click Allow to download the file.
Upload from Your Personal Computer to the Virtual Desktop Computer
Step 1: Click Upload from the top menu bar (This opens the Desktop folder).
Step 2: On your Personal Computer, browse to the file(s) you want to upload to your lab environment and click Open.
Step 3: Select Desktop at the top or Make New Folder in your Desktop folder and click OK. The file will be placed on your desktop.
Note: Files saved to the Desktop Folder are accessible from other machines as well.
To access uploaded files while using lab machines within Lab Broker
Step 1: Open Lab Broker (In Favorites), or open in Cyber Programs.
Step 2: Once connected to the Lab Broker environment, you'll see both Lab Broker and Windows Explorer pointing to your Desktop folder.
Step 3: Once you've connected to your lab machine, you can copy and paste files from the Desktop folder to your lab machine.
Note: You cannot drag and drop files to and from Windows computers.
