Note: Your lab environment and applications are customized for your course. This feature may not be available in all lab environments.
Follow the instructions below to copy and paste files in your virtual lab environment using Windows.
Instructions
1. In your UMGC classroom, please locate the Virtual Lab Access, under the table of contents and launch the Virtual Lab Access link. This will display the Lab Broker UI and control panel.
2. If you have not previously done so, please allocate your lab environment. If you have already allocated your lab environment, then click "Start Nodes" to start your lab environment. Once your lab environment has been started, click the connect button to make a connection to you lab machine.
3. Once connected to you virtual lab, you can click the command keys
• Chromebook: CTRL+ALT+SHIFT
• MAC: CTRL+COMMAND+SHIFT
to open the Virtual Lab Machines command menu as shown below.
5. Once selecting the Upload Files option, you should see a selection screen of your local workstation/PC. Please select the file(s) that you wish to upload to your virtual lab machine and then select open.
6. The file transfer will begin and show a progress bar in the bottom right hand corner of your virtual lab machine as shown below:
7. Press the same commands to exit the Virtual Lab Machines command menu:
• Chromebook: CTRL+ALT+SHIFT
• MAC: CTRL+COMMAND+SHIFT
In a Windows machine you will be able to find your uploaded file(s) by opening File Explorer under This PC and accessing the drive labeled “UMGC Labs on Guacamole RDP”.
